JV (Joint Venture) Giveaways are the best way to get tons of free stuff or add tons of subscribers to your email list, and it’s usually the main reason behind the giveaway.

A JV Giveaway is a special promotion that lasts a short period of time (usually a few weeks), during which all products are given away for free.

Products given away can include:

eBooks and reports

Software such as WordPress Plugins, Themes and Templates, etc.

Audio based products

PLR Packages

Training Videos

Social Networking Tools

E-Courses

Membership Sites

There are many different giveaways for many different niches like self help, dating, fitness, pets, and many more.

How does it work?

You can participate in a Giveaway either as a member or as a JV (Joint Venture) Contributor.

If you join as a member – Since it’s a “giveaway” you can join for free and get as many of the gifts in the giveaway as you want.

If you join as a JV Contributor you will have to submit your free products to be added to the pot. The way you build your list is by sending people to your squeeze page and then sending them your free gift after they have signed up. There are two levels of contributors that you can join at:

Free contributor – usually the number of free gifts you can contribute is 1. The catch is that you have to promote the giveaway and refer people to sign up for the giveaway. The more people you refer (who sign up) the higher your gift will be in the list of products to download and therefore the more subscribers you’ll get. You can also make money from commissions if your referrals buy the special offers presented.

Paid contributor – after you sign up you will be presented with an OTO (One Time Offer) offering you the option to become a paid contributor for a much higher exposure and a better chance of making money. The price for the OTO is usually between $7 – $37 (varies for each giveaway). Just be careful of the really expensive upgrades as they may not be worth the time, effort and expense.

Here are some of the options you can get as a paid contributor:

Your gift listed in the Random Hot Downloads page (This is the first page the members will see when they go to the get gifts area. This first page randomly displays 10 gifts from JV Partners that purchase this One Time Offer).

Direct Download Links

Can submit 3 – 5 free Gifts – the more gifts you submit the more exposure you get, and the more subscribers you get.

Can submit 2 – 5 of your own Special Offers

Can get 3 – 5 text ads for advertising of your own offers or affiliate offers

Upgrade Commission of 50% – 75% when one of your referrals purchases any special offer.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the best way to generate loads of leads and build your email list. You can easily add anywhere between 50 – 1000 subscribers to your list, depending on the giveaway and the products you contribute.

I’ve seen many people asking this question around, so I thought I’d answer it here. It’s really pretty simple once you get the hang of it…

Log into your Paypal account and go to:

Merchant services –> Buy Now Button

You will see 3 steps. Click on the first tab:

Step 1: Choose a button type and enter your payment details – enter the data about your product: name, price, currency
Step 2: Track inventory, profit & loss (optional) – you will not need this for online/digital products
Step 3: Customize advanced features (optional) – yes, you will need this step. The most important parts are:

Take customers to this URL when they cancel their checkout:
– You’ll probably want to enter your site URL;

The most important part is this:

Take customers to this URL when they finish checkout:
– You’ll need to enter the “Thank You” page, where they can download their purchase.

Click “save changes” and you will be taken to a page with HTML code. Click on “select code” which will copy it for you and then you can do to your site and paste it.
And that’s it, you’re done!

All your buttons are saved, so if you want to change something – for example change the currency from USD to CAD, or change the price, you can go to:
Merchant services ==> my saved buttons –> see list of your buttons –> edit button

You will see: item name, price and currency. You can change the currency by selecting the one you want from the drop down menu.

Every time you make changes to your button you need to re-generate the button code and replace the code that you have now with the new code on your page.

Please leave a comment below if you have any questions or comments.

As the Internet becomes more and more competitive and millions of sites are emerging every day, it becomes really crucial for you to have your posts and articles optimized for search engines. You need traffic to stay I business, and free traffic is the best kind of traffic!

Here are a few basic principles for Search Engine Optimization of your blog or website. Use it as a “cheat sheet”, it’s not intended to be a complete reference manual.

Include your main keywords or phrase in your domain name.

Include your main keywords or phrase in many different variations in your blog post names or website article subjects.

Include your main keywords or phrase in your <title> tag.

Include your main keywords or phrase in your <h1> tag (ideally you should only have one <h1> tag).

Include your main keywords or phrase in the first 50 words of your content (not counting header tags).

Include your main keywords or phrase at least once every 100 words in your content text (i.e. Keyword density of at least 1%).

Include your main keywords or phrase in your internal links.

Use good, original content for your blog posts or website articles.

Build as many one-way incoming links as you can, especially from good sites.

Reciprocal links are also good to have but are not as powerful as one-way links.

It’s definitely recommended that you Google the subject and learn as much as you can about it, it’s really well worth the effort.

“The Inconvenience of Poor Quality Lingers Long After the Thrill of a Bargain is Forgotten.”

This proverb was posted in my son’s optician’s office, and was found by the owner on a matchbox twenty years ago.

As I was admiring this brilliant adage, I was also realizing that it can be applied to any kind of business, including Internet Marketing.

Sure, when it comes to eye glasses the importance is obvious – there’s a huge difference between the $9.99 glasses you get at the drugstore and the ones you get at a good optician – they fall off your nose, hurt behind your ears, make your eyes squint, and so on. But there are all sorts of other “inconveniences” that one can encounter.

For example, I was looking for a digital delivery plugin for my products and after Googling for a while could not find what I was looking for. A few days later I came across a product called “Digital Product Demon” that only cost $17 and came with MRR (Master Resell Rights”). “Wow”, I was thinking, “what a find!”

Unfortunately, I let it sit around for about two and a half months (the holidays, you know…) until I got around to installing it. I say “unfortunately” because I couldn’t get it to work and at that point I couldn’t get my money back. I Googled the product and found many references to this poor quality product that nobody was able to get any use out of. Yet, many people were selling it left and right, with or without the knowledge that this product never actually worked.

So let’s see: I bought a product that didn’t work as advertised, I couldn’t get my money back, I wasted time and energy trying to get it to work and Googling for a solution, and got back to square one. Would you say I was “Inconvenienced”?

So here’s what I think:

1. This does not mean that you can’t find good quality products that are inexpensive and also come with MRR.

2. If you buy a product, make sure you try it right away so you can still get your money back if it doesn’t work (use Paypal if you can – if you have to ask for your money back it’s easier and simpler than doing a charge back on a credit card).

3. If you’re an Internet Marketer (or any other marketer for that matter) and you promote poor quality products, your “inconvenienced” customers will make sure they don’t buy from you ever again.

4. It’ll cost you more than just a sale or two, it’s your reputation that’s on the line. And bad reputation is really bad for business.

You wake up one morning and find the following email in your inbox: “make $3,300 a day while you sleep with this amazing product…” You’re intrigued. Who wouldn’t be? You open the email and discover that it requires an “initial” investment of $97. You’re thinking – well, $97 is not that much money, and the potential here is huge… plus – they GUARANTEE it! You go ahead and buy it just to discover that – well – it doesn’t quite work that way. There’s a bunch of stuff you need to do before getting to that $3,300 a day while you sleep.

Sounds familiar?

If you’ve been toying with the idea of making money on the Internet, or have actually tried it, you know what I’m talking about. There are so many aspects to Internet Marketing, and so many products out there for each and every aspect, that it’s really overwhelming when you’re just starting out. You keep getting emails about people getting rich overnight and finding these websites with shiny headers promising to make you an overnight millionaire, and it’s really tempting. You think – why not me?

Or you may have even tried making money on the Internet and discovered that it’s not that simple. You get the feeling that everyone else is striking it rich but you. And you’re thinking – what do they have that I don’t?

Yes, I know, very frustrating. But if you think anybody’s success on the Internet happened overnight, think again. If you think there are people out there who became millionaires without paying their dues, think again. Chances are, they all had many months of frustration and failure, before striking it rich. Chances are, they all had to educate themselves about product creation, web site design, affiliate programs, email marketing, SEO, analyzing statistics, creating and optimizing PPC Campaigns, and a million other different things. Chances are, they all had many trials and errors and they all had to learn from past mistakes and failures. They probably started years ago, before there were any real tools to make their lives easier.

Here’s what I think:

1. You’re not alone. Nobody made it overnight to fame and fortune.

2. Don’t even bother reading all these junk emails. After all, if they can make “$3,300 a day while they sleep”, why are they spamming you?!

3. Just Keep learning. Keep exploring. Until you find “your calling”. One day you’ll find that one thing that will be “your niche”. And your success.

Spend a good deal of time just educating yourself on the different aspects of Internet Marketing. Don’t make any decision or start any new ventures until you feel you have a pretty good understanding of the basics.

Make a list of all the different ways you know of to make money on the internet, such as – having your own product, promoting affiliate programs, promoting a service, MLM, etc.

Figure out for each opportunity, what you would have to do in order to develop and promote it: would you have to create a website or a blog, would you be doing email marketing, PPC campaigns, classified ads, social networking, etc.

Think about your personality and your likes and dislikes, and make a decision about what kind of business you would like to have. For example:

if you like writing, you might want to create a blog or develop a website, and promote affiliate products;

if you’re good at creating graphics you might want to create a package with custom made images that you sell to others;

if you like social networking you can promote products directly without a website or a blog;

If you think you’re going to need a website or a landing page, look into what it would take for you to have one. Would you like to learn these skills (if you don’t already have them) or would you prefer to outsource these tasks?

If you prefer to outsource, do some research on the different tasks you would need to outsource and have a very specific idea of what you want to have done – for example – website design, copywriting, logo, programming, etc.

Do not buy any product in anticipation of needing it later, because chances are that you’ll find something better later and will never use that first one.

If you buy a product, make sure you get all the benefits from it before moving on to the next one. Don’t just jump from one product to another.

Choose a topic for your website, blog or product that you know something about and preferably have some passion for – it will sustain you through the tough times.

Last but not least – and I’m sure you’ve heard it before many times – don’t believe everything you read on the Internet!

We’ve all heard about people getting rich overnight, read product promotions promising to make us millionaires while we sleep, and so on. Here are a few of my favorite myths:

“If You Build It – They Will Come…”

Having a website up and running does not mean having instant traffic, no matter how great your website is. Those days of instant first page on Google are over. It really takes a lot of effort to get people to visit your site.

“If You Can Copy And Paste, You Can Make Tons Of Money…”

Not exactly. At some point you have to engage your mind as well. And even that may not be enough to make tons of money. There’s no such thing as “somebody else doing all the work for you”, you’re going to have to put in lots of time, money and effort no matter what other people or the “miracle product of the day” have promised you.

“The Money Is In The List…”

Not if you didn’t build the relationship first. If you built a list and tried marketing to your list before giving them something valuable first and creating a reciprocal relationship, you’ll never be able to get real value out of that list.

“Set It And Forget It…”

There’s no such thing as “build it once and leave it alone and it’ll make you money forever”. There’s always going to be stuff to do. There’s always more content needed, better monetizing, optimization, analyzing statistics, etc. the world around us is constantly changing and so is the Internet. Nothing stays the same for a long period of time.

“Make Money While You Sleep…”

That may be true as this is the nature of the Internet and as the world doesn’t go to sleep when you do, but that’s not going to happen if you didn’t put in place an income generating system of some sort.

“Writing SEO-Articles Will Boost Your Sales…”

keyword-stuffed articles that no one would be interested in reading are never a good idea. Writing articles that readers can’t quite relate to because the sentences are incoherent instead of writing useful information for your target audience will only drive people away from your site.

Our site has been going “remodeling” in the past few weeks – it has been converted from Joomla to WordPress.
